It
is an honor to use the skills and experience I have acquired
in school and in life for the benefit of our clients in
their family law matters.
I began my quest for a profession at Boston
University. I majored in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
with a goal of becoming a research scientist. As happens
to many people, a general studies course in Constitutional
Law reoriented my career compass to law. During my tenure
at Boston University I was a member, and captain, of the
Women's Varsity Track and Field team, I helped develop labs
to teach the concept of quantum mechanics to grade school
students, and I worked as a grocery clerk, a temp agency
job filler, and a nanny.
After earning my Bachelor's degree, I remained
in Boston for two more years to focus on developing my pole
vaulting. Alas, I was not destined for the Olympics, or
other greater athletic endeavors, and so I turned my attention
back to my career path and went to law school.
I attended the University of San Francisco
School of Law, where I participated in Law Review, Advanced
Moot Court Competitions, and the school tutoring program.
I began to practice law in 2004 in San Francisco, CA. I
am now a proud resident of Reno, Nevada with my partner
Patrick and our daughter, and I focus my practice on all
aspects of family law.
I am licensed to practice law in Nevada and
California and have experience in family law, construction
defect litigation and general commercial litigation. In
addition to practicing law, I believe it to be important
to contribute to our community. Therefore, I currently serve
as the Vice President of the Northern Nevada Women Lawyers
Association, a board member of the Lawyer Referral and Information
Service, and a member of the Northern Nevada Disciplinary
Committee and I volunteer for Family Lawyer in the Library,
which provides help to those with particular questions in
any aspect of family law.
Those in our profession have many titles -
attorney, lawyer, and counselor. As an attorney I strive
to analyze the law to the benefit of our clients; as a lawyer
I strive to professionally advocate for our clients; and
as a counselor I strive to provide our clients with sage
advice.
